Stamps signal Nationwide LB Dan Basambombo

CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders have signed nationwide linebacker Dan Basambombo and added him to the workforce’s observe roster, the workforce introduced on Monday.

The Université Laval alum was a second-round choice by the Ottawa Redblacks within the 2020 Canadian Soccer League draft and performed 23 video games with Ottawa in 2021 and 2022, recording six special-teams tackles.

At Laval, Basambombo performed 14 video games over three seasons. Over the course of his profession with the Rouge et Or, he collected 42 tackles together with 4 tackles for loss, three sacks, two pressured fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Basambomo was a Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) all-star for Laval in 2018 after recording 31.5 tackles together with three tackles for loss, two sacks, one pressured fumble and one fumble restoration in eight video games.

Basambombo was born in Congo and moved to Canada along with his household on the age of 9. He attended École Secondaire Catholique Franco-Cité in Ottawa and performed junior soccer with the Cumberland Panthers.
