Elks add d-lineman Jordan Strachan to follow roster

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Elks introduced on Tuesday that they’ve signed American defensive lineman Jordan Strachan to the follow roster.

The 25-year-old spent three seasons with the South Carolina Gamecocks from 2021-2025, recording eight sacks in 27 video games (11 begins) with the membership. The Kingsland, GA native transferred to South Carolina from Georgia State, the place he joined the Panthers as a stroll on in 2017 till his switch in 2021.

In Strachan’s remaining season with the Panthers, he recorded 10.5 sacks in 10 video games, with 14 tackles-for-loss. The six-foot-five defensive lineman performed seven seasons of collegiate ball, gaining an additional 12 months of eligibility attributable to COVID-19, in addition to, an ACL harm that held Strachan to solely two video games through the 2022-2023 season.

Strachan was named a 2020 Third-Staff All-Solar Belt participant and to the 2019 Solar Belt Convention Honour Roll.

The Elks return to motion on Saturday, Sept. 7, once they tackle the Calgary Stampeders within the Labour Day Rematch at Commonwealth Stadium.
