Week 5 Injury Report: Seahawks at Saints

The Seahawks opened their week of practice with five players held out, though center Austin Blythe’s absence was not injury related, but rather, as Pete Carroll reported earlier in the day, because his wife just had a baby. Guard Gabe Jackson got his usual Wednesday off, while Darryl Johnson, who left Sunday’s game with what Carroll called a significant ankle injury, didn’t practice as expected. Also out were running back Rashaad Penny (shoulder), who is coming off a 151-yard, two-touchdown performance, and defensive end Quinton (*5*) (elbow).

The Seahawks had three players listed as limited—cornerback Justin Coleman, guard Damien Lewis and receiver Dareke Young—while three others were on the injury report but listed as full participants, including guard Phil Haynes, who missed last weekend’s game with an ankle injury.

The Saints had five players sit out Wednesday’s practice, including starting quarterback Jameis Winston and starting receiver Michael Thomas, both of whom missed New Orleans’ Week 4 game in London. Running back Alvin Kamara, who also missed that game, was limited in practice, and told reporters in New Orleans Wednesday that he plans to play this week.
